I think you have seen some expressions or ways of speaking in translated stories that we're unlikely to use.

why are these words used? Because it's only words which depict English as Japanese.
So I think it prevents the real originality and parsonality from conveyed.

For example,Lewis Carol known as a writer of "Alice in the wonderland" is playing using words.
He changes words to the similar words ,and you can't notice the real fun with his translated books.

In Japanese story, a secret hidding stories make the story more interesting.
